Mercedes Van Interior
In Spring 2019, Hykel Carpentry created turned the interior of an old Mercedes van into a beautifully cosy living space, using a variety of woods, many of them reclaimed. These included; maple Venetian blinds for the roof, old teak flooring for the upper cupboard above the driver and passenger seat, and pallet wood for the sofa. The panel doors and drawer fronts for the under bed cupboard space, are made from tulip wood and reclaimed Iroko. The sycamore, (which is used to create an edge to the shelf space that divides the roof from the windows), and the Iroko were sourced from the Bristol Wood Project, a fantastic supplier of reclaimed and locally milled wood.
