This picture, painted at Ashley Down Primary School, represents the ability to stand alone when necessary. For me a musician rocking it with the help of a looper clearly sums up this personal quality.
On Saturday I met a man named Allen who has lived in Bristol for years but comes from Ireland. He told me a story about a rabbit being blown onto the roof of a house recently in Ireland. Fancy that! That must have been quite some wind.
Allen wore a dark grey, Russian military Jacket that had been appliquéd and embroidered with poppies and a cat by a friend of his. It looked good. The decoration balanced out the tailored formality of the coat.
At some point in the evening Allen procured a harmonica from his jacket pocket and started to play.
