All these heads are for our Greek Myths productions. They started life in my sketch book and when I was happy with what they would look like I carved them all from recycled polystyrene. This decision making on paper made production into a fairly no-nonsense procedure which was important because there are 16 heads in total. I worked very fast and tried to get each head carved in 1 hour. A few I managed in this time but most took a little longer. As with Zeus’s head in previous posts the next stage is to cover these heads in paper mache to give them strength before they are painted.
Keep an eye on this blog to see how these characters materialse into puppets. There will be videos of them in action when they are ready.
